Richmond additions & alterations
Rather than locating a second–storey ‘attic’ addition toward the rear of a typical ‘Californian Bungalow’, which would have lead to an otherwise costly reorganisation of the existing ground floor rooms, the additional living room and master bedroom were located prominently at the front of the house, although not without a fight with local authorities.

The strong angularity of the addition and its prominent sliding window screen is offset by massing and detailing that is sympathetic to the original bungalow.
